What Kostira does
Kostira structures the path from a customer’s STEP model to a reviewed CNC estimate and quote. Geometry provides the initial data, your shop’s rates provide the commercial context, and the estimator can change every assumption that needs manufacturing judgment.
STEP geometry as the starting point
The STEP model supplies geometry for the costing workflow and reduces the need to copy the same dimensions between tools. It does not contain a complete manufacturing plan. Workholding, tooling, tolerances and operation sequence still need review by someone who understands the part and the shop.

Material and process rates owned by the shop
The estimate uses material prices and process rates that reflect your operation. You can review them for each RFQ and account for the machines and methods available in your business. Kostira is not a supplier marketplace that dictates a finished-part price.
An editable cost breakdown
The result is a draft for review, not an immutable number. Users can correct material, operations, hours, rates and other quote inputs. This matters for one-off parts, low-volume work and RFQs where a drawing or specification changes the interpretation of the 3D model.
PDF and XLSX output
After review, the estimate can become a PDF quote for the customer or an XLSX export for an existing internal workflow. Exporting to a spreadsheet keeps Kostira compatible with teams that still rely on Excel for reporting or downstream analysis.
Current beta scope
Kostira runs in a browser. The application interface is currently in English, calculations use PLN, and the open beta is free without a card. Product coverage will evolve through real quoting workflows without turning customer data or CAD files into public marketing content.
