ABOUT KOSTIRA

We are building for the people accountable for the quoted price

Kostira is designed for small and midsize CNC shops where an owner, estimator or manufacturing engineer must connect CAD data with the realities of their own machines and cost base.

Open beta · no card · the app interface is in English

Why Kostira exists

CNC quoting often moves from a CAD model into notes, spreadsheets and the experience of one estimator. Kostira connects those stages: STEP geometry, shop material and process rates, an editable cost breakdown, and output that can be shared with a customer.

It is not a manufacturing marketplace with a centrally imposed part price. Each shop has different equipment, overhead and risk tolerance, so the user retains control of assumptions and the final quote.

Product principles

  • Visible assumptions over a magic number. A cost breakdown should show the items that can be checked and changed.
  • The estimator remains in control. A STEP model does not replace process planning, drawings or manufacturability review.
  • Claims need evidence. Kostira does not promise accuracy or time savings without a documented measurement method.
  • Customer data is not marketing content. Public case studies must use approved, anonymized or synthetic material.
  • The beta scope is explicit. The application is in English, currently uses PLN, and is free without a card.

Working with beta users

Development is informed by real quoting workflows. A draft pilot protocol may be publicly accessible, but it remains outside search indexes and is not evidence of product performance. Results will be published only after the sample is closed, the measurement and anonymization are checked, and a person experienced in CNC estimating independently reviews the work.

How editorial review is labelled

Kostira Technical Review 2026-07 on a guide means an internal audit of its sources, terminology and consistency with the product’s current verified scope. It is not presented as an independent expert opinion or certification. A shop’s manufacturing engineer and cost-accounting owner should approve any method before it supports real commercial quotes.
